Simon Conley was born a werewolf, making him one of a tiny minority in a sea of vanilla humans. The safety of the pack lies in absolute secrecy, sometimes violently enforced. In a species where pack-members are born and not made, being gay is considered a perversion. So when Simon falls in love with a human man, he’s twice damned. Even his Alpha's grudging tolerance may not be enough to shield him from the hatred of the other top wolves. Then his lover Paul stumbles across pack secrets Simon was sworn to keep, and if the pack finds out, they may both end up dead.

BLURB:
Becoming Alpha made Aaron responsible for protecting his new pack against outside threats, but fighting his own desires might pose an even bigger challenge.

When Aaron took down a crazy dominant wolf and inherited half a pack, he knew the Alpha job wasn't going to be easy. A week later, he's finding out what an understatement that was. Having a gay wolf in his pack brings lethal threats from other werewolves. Then humans locate his wolves and move in to try to capture and exploit one of them. Aaron has enough pressure and demands without letting his long-suppressed sexuality escape his rigid control. But keeping his distance from a young man who appeals to all his senses could be Aaron's biggest challenge.

REVIEW
I decided to review HIDDEN WOLVES 1 & 2 together since the second book was just released recently and I hadn’t read the first yet anyway so now was a good time to do both.   It was great fun going through one and right into the next like it was one book, and frankly it could have been released that way because the flow of story just rolled from one book to the next.
Simon and Paul are the main characters of book one and secondary in book two where Aaron and Zach become leads.
I liked that the author didn’t go the route of many shifter books and have the giant muscle man shifter and the tiny wisp of a mate; both men were evenly matched in one way or another in or out of bed.
The romance flowed with the story and neither book was flooded with sex as many shifter titles I’ve read have been.  The story was the primary focus of the books with the romance in equal measure as that is what got the plot rolling to begin with.
The characterization for everyone from the alpha all the way to the lowest wolf and each human was vivid and believable; the reader was led to feel for these people and to know them, whether they liked them all or not.
Both books were a great pleasure and I will be waiting anxiously for book 3.
